i'm thinking of writing a dichotimous key for the undead, inspired by

Dan: just got back to my apt, i'm unpacking a whole mess o' piggies

Dan: so many piggies
padmaclynne: is someone trying to kill you in the future?
Dan: hmmm
Dan: i sure hope not
Dan: that'd suck
padmaclynne: where did the pigggies come from?
Dan: i don't know
Dan: they were just... just... everywhere.
padmaclynne: um.
padmaclynne: yeah, someone's trying to kill you.
Dan: shit.
padmaclynne: eh, they're probably incompetent.
padmaclynne: if you aren't dead yet, then your time-travelling killers are incompetent.
padmaclynne: Dan?
Dan: that's true. i mean, if they can travel through time, you'd think they'd get it by now
padmaclynne: i thought you might be dead. i would have been sad.
Dan: oh gee, i hope i'm not dead
Dan: maybe i'm undead?
padmaclynne: well, that'd be cool.
padmaclynne: can you fly?
padmaclynne: are you inhumanly strong?
Dan: hmm... well... not to my knowledge
Dan: but i'd be new
padmaclynne: sunlight: empowering rays, or bane of your existence?
Dan: hmmmm
Dan: it does make me kinda sleepy
padmaclynne: but not on fire?
Dan: no... no fire
padmaclynne: so you could be a Stokerian vamp, but not Ricean or WW.
padmaclynne: does it make you strong?
Dan: no, i don't think so
padmaclynne: so. Not Kryptonian or a Ricean mummy.
padmaclynne: can you speak?
padmaclynne: do you have cat-like reflexes?
padmaclynne: are you craving anything? and what, if so?
Dan: mummies get power from sunlight?
padmaclynne: Ricean ones.
Dan: hmm. i'm not really craving anything at the moment.
Dan: well, maybe playstation, i dunno
padmaclynne: hmm. what game do you want to play?
Dan: ... castlevania, actually.
padmaclynne: hmm. that's kinda bloodlusty.
Dan: it's true.
padmaclynne: you're probably half-vamp, half human, driven to destroy your evil cousins.
Dan: yay, i'm blade, only white.
padmaclynne: blade-style.



okay, i have to admit this: i haven't read Dracula. i usually don't talk about it, because i think it damages my street cred to own up to that.
