jt posted pictures of the cooper's hawk, and today, while i was looking in the courtyard at the mourning dove that apparently got injured sometime today (many tail feathers missing, unable to fly, slowly freezing to death, except for when a fucking devil squirrel jumped on it's back and started biting it) (i... i know i cannot help the dove, i don't have the time, i don't have a place, and my cat can open doors, so i really don't have a place. maybe it'll get better. it doesn't seem to be bleeding externally, and there is food on the ground, so it might be able to make it. but some part of me wants to just kill it quickly. maybe the hawk will come back, but it seems to be a falcon, snatching birds from the air, and so i don't know if it will eat a ground-bird.) uh. right. nesting statements. anyway, next to the dove, there is a bush where three (or more) mice live. they are very cute. but one ran into a drainpipe leading into the building, so i expect there are many mice living in the subfloor. oh. also, a male cardinal, and a nuthatch.
and liam dropped off cat's magic cards today. they include 14 unopened boosters. man i want to open them. but maybe i should just hold on to them. calm, pat, calm.
